Cyber Essentials Keeping UK Businesses Safe


The UK Government's National Cyber Security Strategy was is to make the UK a safer place to conduct business online.  On the 1st October 2014 all suppliers must be compliant with the new Cyber Essentials controls if bidding for a government contract, which involves handling of sensitive and personal information and provision of certain technical products and services.

The Cyber Essentials scheme identifies some key technical security mechanisms that a business needs to have in place to help defend against Internet cyber threats.

The certification not only helps and guides you to a safer data security system, but also gives you credit ability toward your suppliers and customers.

There are two certification options:

Our self-assessment option gives you protection against a wide variety of the most common cyber attacks. The certification process has been designed to be light-weight and easy to follow.

Cyber Essentials Plus Certification still has our trademark simplicity of approach. The protections you need to have in place are the same, but this time the verification of your cyber security is carried out independently by a Certification Body

Three steps to certification:

  1. Select a Certification Body through one of the Accreditation Bodies - (Look no further as we already have contact with a provider with exceptional reputation).

  2. Verify that your I.T. is suitably secure and meets the standards set by Cyber Essentials - we can help with this.

  3. Complete a questionnaire - provided to you and verify your answers. Once you’ve passed, you will be award your Cyber Essentials certificate. This can be displayed on your website and literature.
